About me / DESIGN TO evoke FEELING
I am Gitte Meeussen, 35. Having lived across the globe and moved house so many times, I know the importance of taking away some of the stressors in life by coming home to a space that brings comfort and evokes feelings of joy and peace.
With a multidisciplinary and international background in photography, product design, visual arts and styling, I have learnt to adapt to many cultures and styles, yet been able to stay true to myself.
I will design your interior or event with:
- an eye for lighting adapted to different spaces as a photographer,
- a passion for beautiful and iconic design pieces as a product designer
- my feel for colour and balance as a visual artist
- a touch of detail as a stylist and florist
It is my mission to create a unique interior that truly fits who you are and makes you feel proud of calling this place your home.

THE PROCESS / HOW IT WORKS

INITIAL CONTACT

MATERIALS + TEXTURES + COLOURS
Once decided on the style, I will do more research and will propose a selection of colours and materials for you.
We will make decisions on:
-
paint and/or wallpaper
-
Tiles or wall textures
-
Floorings and/or carpets
-
Window coverings and fabrics
-
Metal and wood colours
This way we can do in a couple of hours what otherwise would take you weeks of running around, "trying to making decisions".
I will plan out how the colours and materials will be used in the space, provide you the specific numbers of the paints/materials and a plan on which wall goes which colour/material.

LET'S MEET
We will chat about the dreams and visions that you hope to achieve in the space and what you are struggling with at the moment. We will look together to some inspiration photo's to see what you resonate to, talk about how you want the space to feel.
During this stage I will also gather info like the floorpan/measurements and make an inventory of which furnitures you want to keep.
*for corporate projects I will look at your brand identity as a staring point.

DECIDE ON YOUR STYLE
Once I get the feeling I get what you want, then I will start the process of creating 2x moodboards, These moodboards that you can choose form will visualise the vibe and atmosphere that would fit your unique personality or your brands identity.

FURNITURES +
DECORATION
I will create a layout plan to showcase how you can make the most of your space.
After I have been in close dialogue with you, I will provide a visualisation of the chosen furnitures and decorations, and how they are put together to create the desired style and atmosphere in your home.
I work together with a lot of beautiful brands and shops, for any of those I will prepare a purchasing agreement and will manage all the purchasing for you, so you can sit back and have a stress free experience.

PERSONAL SHOPPING
+ PURCHASING
I have access to showrooms for professionals, so If during any fase of the project you like me to visit specific showrooms, or locate specific materials, items, art, vintage object,,.. then this is certainly something I will take on.
Or if you want to come with me and try out furnitures then this is also a possibility!
STYLING + DECORATING
I will start the decorating process when all the main works have been done, and the furnitures and decorations have arrived at your home.
I will take care of bringing the whole vision together with my final styling touches and make one cohesive interior of it.
If I feel that there is still something missing at this stage, then I will give advise on this.
